Business Analysis Team

Location: Fredericton

The Business Analyst is responsible for contributing to all aspects of solution engineering including; problem definition, requirements elicitation, research, solution identification and selection, and implementation.

The BA will work with the Business, Architecture, and Development teams to translate business requirements into detailed processes and solutions. The BA will provide guidance and recommendations in a collaborative effort with internal departments to address key information gaps and ensure delivery of a solution that best meets the customer’s needs.

A primary objective for the BA is to help structure CLEARVIEW to not only meet and exceed the needs of our customers today, but also to be an innovative product that will continue to evolve to meet the needs of existing and future customers tomorrow.  The BA will be responsible for driving key enhancements for CLEARVIEW and its future innovation.

What will your day look like?

Duties and tasks include, but are not limited to:

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conducting gap analysis with targeted competitors and their key modules for various markets
  • Identifying opportunities to expand into other quick service industries (not just QSR)
  • Investigating demand for other languages, functionality to position CLEARVIEW in new markets
  • Providing assessments and recommendations to the Sr. Director of Product Innovation for discussion and decision

Product Innovation

  • Exploring new and creative ways to lead customers into the future; proactively meeting the needs that will arise in their business (whether they know it or not)
  • Helping develop the roadmap for CLEARVIEW, with focus on 3-5 years in the future
  • Assess the value of current CLEARVIEW functionality and provide feedback on adding/removing/enhancing functions and features
  • Providing an attractive product that will attract and retain customers
  • Working closely with internal teams to determine overall product direction and innovation map
  • Discussing how to best leverage new technologies (build/buy/integrate) with the Product Engineering team

Collaborating with technical teams

  • Communicating customer needs and strategies to the Architecture team
  • Helping to identify solutions within CLEARVIEW that meet the customer’s needs while also fitting into the overall product strategy
  • Consulting with Development teams, advising and answering questions as they build and refine a solution

Collaboration with business teams

  • Collaborating and sharing best practices
  • Articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others
  • Attending interdepartmental meetings as needed to provide insight on process improvement and opportunities for increased efficiency


You should be:

  • 100% product and process focused, passionate about designing a quality product that meets both business and technical needs
  • An enthusiastic self-starter who learns quickly and proactively approaches tasks and assignments with a focus on problem-solving and data analysis
  • An excellent communicator (written and oral), who can effectively present complex information in a clear and understandable fashion
  • Persuasive, able to establish rapport, quickly build trust and gain buy-in internally and externally

And have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Business Analyst
  • A solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle (SLDC)
  • Experience with requirements elicitation through workshop facilitation and interviews
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and KanBan
  • Ability to effectively prepare and maintain the following documents / tools:
    • Functional and Non-Functional Requirement Definition
    • Use Cases
    • User Stories
    • Business Processes, including an understanding of BPMN
    • Process Flow Analysis
    • Product Architecture and Design Best Practices
    • Entity Relationship Diagrams/Data Models
    • Detailed Functional Designs
    • Business Cases
    • Request for Proposals/Information
    • Executive Summaries
  • The ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and competing priorities at any given point
  • Experience working on projects of various sizes and scopes, as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with emphasis on customer focus, teamwork, and relationship-building
  • A proven track record of understanding and negotiating the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders (internal/external) to achieve desired results

Other requirements:

  • Some flexibility of working hours as required based on business and departmental needs
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Minimal physical demands, with most time spent sitting/standing in an office environment; manual dexterity required for computer usage
  • Significant visual and mental concentration
